The 7th Annual Wilmington Historic Half Marathon, 10K & 5K will take place on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2024. Starting in the heart of downtown, runners will take a beautiful, closed course through the streets as they see the true southern beauty in Historic Wilmington, North Carolina. After 2.5 miles of downtown running, the 5K splits off to the boardwalk to finish while the Half Marathon will continue straight over 3 bridges and around a scenic lake before finishing down one of the nation's top-rated boardwalks! The 10K splits after the 3rd bridge and heads down the boardwalk to the finish line!

You can plan on a good time at our Finish Line After Party! Race Bash is bringing all the fun and even some surprises...you don't want to miss it! Hosted at Riverfront Park, the after-party includes beer from Wrightsville Beach Brewery & yummy food (you will have voucher tabs on your bib for these). The after-party will run until at 11:30 a.m. See you there!

Start Times:   

5K: 7 a.m.

10K: 7:30 a.m.

Half Marathon: 7:45 AM

*If you are running the Challenge, you must complete the 5K under 45 min. in order to be at the Half Marathon start line by 7:45. There will be no late starts.  

• City decks located at 929 N. Front St., 115 Market St., 114 N. 2nd St, 14 Grace St, the Wilmington Convention Center deck at 515 Nutt St., and the County deck at 212 N. 2nd St. will charge a $10.00 event fee (after 4 p.m.)
• On-street metered parking is free.
• The City of Wilmington has marked accessible parking at all of its managed downtown public parking lots and parking decks. Patrons with a valid accessible parking license plate or permit / hang tag may also park for free at any on-street metered or un-metered space for an unlimited time.
