City To Host Annual Affordable Lending Fair On June 29

The City of Wilmington’s Housing and Neighborhood Services division is thrilled to announce the upcoming Affordable Lending Fair, set to take place on Saturday, June 29th at the MLK Center, 401 South 8th Street, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. This event aims to provide valuable resources, information, and support to residents seeking affordable lending options.

The Affordable Lending Fair is sponsored by the City of Wilmington, SouthState Bank and First Bank. The fair will feature representatives from local banks dedicated to offering affordable lending options. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore various lending options, including low-interest loans, first-time homebuyer programs, and down payment assistance. Additionally, HOP Certified Real Estate Brokers will be available as well to answer questions regarding the homebuying process.

"Our goal with the Affordable Lending Fair is to bring awareness to affordable lending options for low to moderate income individuals and families," said Tanita Wallace, Sr. Community Development Analyst. "Most homebuyers don’t realize that down payment assistance may be available to them, we want to inform them so that they make the best financial decision for their families when it comes to purchasing a home."

The event is free and open to the public.
