Wilmington 101

From infrastructure and basic services to public safety to recreation to economic development, city government plays an integral role in shaping a community’s quality of life and future prosperity. While the City of Wilmington employs over 1,000 full-time staff to perform these vital functions, the city also relies upon numerous residents to guide and shape the city’s direction. In addition to an elected Mayor and City Council, 34 resident volunteer-led boards and commissions provide city government with valuable insight, direction, and community connection.

Wilmington 101 is a new opportunity to network with residents and leaders from across the community, discover how city government works, and learn how you can help guide and shape our city’s future. From January through June, participants will gather once per month for 2-3 hours to hear from invited guest speakers and see hands-on demonstrations of city government in action.
