Overview

This proposed 8-foot wide, paved multi-use path will run the full length of Hooker Road, connecting UNCW and the Cross City Trail to the existing bike lanes on Wrightsville Avenue. Design, permitting, and construction on this project are being combined with a multiuse path along nearby Hinton Avenue (from Park Avenue to Greenville Avenue) as well as bike lanes and sidewalks on Greenville Avenue (from Hinton Avenue to Wrightsville Avenue).

Implementation of these three projects will greatly enhance the bicycle and pedestrian network in this part of Wilmington and is a City priority.

Timeline

 Construction on all three projects is anticipated to begin in summer 2024 and be completed in 2025.
