Preschool Programs

The City of Wilmington’s Parks & Recreation Department strives to offer programming opportunities for all! For that reason, the Fit For Fun (FFF) Center exists for those between the ages of 0 and 5. The FFF team of committed and passionate youth educators provides a warm and safe environment to best support children’s natural curiosity and enthusiasm for learning. Fit For Fun 

Summer Water Works

Dive into a day of aquatic fun with Water Works at Fit For Fun, where preschoolers can splash, dash, and play in the sun! Don't forget to pack your swimsuit, towel, sunscreen, a change of clothes, and a lawn chair. From 9 a.m. to noon, little ones will revel in water play activities, including frolicking in sprinklers and cooling off with sweet, colorful ice pops provided at 10:30 am. Pre-registration is required to ensure a splashing good time for all.

When: June 1, 7, 21; July 6, 12, 26; August 3, 9, & 23

Time: 9 a.m. to noon

Ages: 6 months - 5 years old

Playful Foundations

Join Ms. Kendra in the Fit For Fun Center art room for 15-minute sessions of educational activities designed to build a strong foundation for your child's future development. Each program will combine fun and learning through guided storytelling, imaginative play, sensory exploration, movement and coordination games, and fine motor fun! Walk-in’s welcome! *Ages 5 and under + adults & caregivers

Upcoming program dates: July 10 & 24, August 14 & 28; September 11 & 25, October 9 & 30, November 13 & 27, December 4 & 18

Little Leaps Creative Movement & Music Classes

Move, dance, explore, play and discover! Join Ms. Carrie in the art room for a joyful and engaging 30-minute caregiver and child movement class specially designed for little movers, walking to 3 years old.

Dates: Tuesdays at 10am: July 2, 16, 23, 30. Pop Up class at 10:30am on Saturday, July 13

Free: Included with FFF admission; otherwise, $5 per child, adults free

Tiny Heroes Program

Safety Lessons & Crafts

Join special guest Ms. Brooke, Fire & Life Safety Educator from the City of Wilmington Fire Department, at 10AM in the Fit For Fun art room for an interactive and educational session on fire safety, designed especially for families with toddlers and preschoolers. Tiny Heroes will kick off with a brief lesson, followed by hands-on crafts and activities to reinforce key fire safety concepts. *Ages 5 and under + adults & caregivers

Dates: Monday, August 12 at 10 a.m.

Fee: Walk-In's Welcome; Included with FFF admission


Fire Truck Display

Mark your calendars for an exciting visit from our local firefighters! On August 19th, from 10:00-11:00 AM, firefighters will bring their firetruck to Fit For Fun. *Ages 5 and under + adults & caregivers

Families will have the opportunity to:
- See the firetruck up close
- Learn about the tools and gear used by firefighters
- Interact with the firefighters and ask questions

Dates: Monday, August 19 at 10 a.m.

Fee: Walk-In's Welcome; Included with FFF admission


Preschool Park Pop-Ups

Come explore your beautiful local parks! Join Fit For Fun Center staff for FREE infant, toddler, and preschool activities! Meet us at the playground! *Ages 5 and under + adults & caregivers

Sensory-Friendly Play Sessions at Fit For Fun

Fit For Fun Center's Sensory-Friendly Play Sessions for children ages 6 months to 5 years offers a calm environment with reduced sound, limited capacity, visual supports, choice boards, and a dedicated sensory space. This setting ensures a comfortable and inclusive play experience tailored to each child's sensory needs. Register here! *Ages 5 and under
