Afterschool Program

Program, full for the full academic term, includes homework assistance, arts/crafts, sports activities, healthy snacks and more.  

Transportation pick up from Rachel Freeman Elementary School and College Park Elementary School.

Ages: Kindergarten - 5th grade  

Cost: $30/month  (Fee assistance is available)

Times: Monday - Friday (2:30 - 5:30 p.m.)

Kids Night Out at Maides Park!

Please join us for Kids Night Out at Maides Park! This program will feature an evening full of fun, games, and laughter at the Davis Center! Parents: Drop your children off for a fantastic night... and we'll even feed 'em! This is the perfect opportunity for kids to make new friends, enjoy a variety of fun-filled activities, and parents get a chance to enjoy a well-deserved evening off!  
Ages: 5-12
Cost: $5/participant
Location: 1101 Manly Avenue, Wilmington

Dates: February 14, 2025; April 11, 2025; August 29, 2025; & December 12, 2025

Mentorship Program for Girls (Girls in Real-Life Situations)

Join the MLK Center in their FREE mentorship program that was designed to support adolescent females during their transitional years by connecting them with positive influences and experiences! Highlights include notable guest speakers, college tours, and engaging discussions on relevant topics. Available to those over the age of 12. Registration available on-site ONLY. 


Program Day: Mondays (2nd & 4th of the Month)

Time: 4:00 - 5:00 PM

Program Length: January 13 - May 12, 2025

Free Movie Night!

With the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, sometimes it’s hard to find time to plan a family fun night. Wilmington Parks and Recreation staff fully understand this - and we’ve got you covered. Join us every first  Thursday & Friday of the month for our hand-picked movie night! This event is at no cost to the attendees and will take place from 5:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. which is perfect for a school night. We also encourage you to guess the movies with your group based on our mystery descriptions/hints! Teen (13+) and Youth (12 and under) showings available!
